There’s a flood of new games coming into the App Store at any given moment, but unless you’re a kid, you probably don’t have time to check all of them out and decide which ones are worth your time.

Luckily, Apple has released a shortlist of the 10 games the company thinks you should have on any new iPhone.

These games range from puzzles to combat games to just addictive tapping fun. And most of them are free — though many include in-app purchases.

Here are the 10 games Apple thinks everyone should have:

Crossy Road

If you’re a fan of the classic game “Frogger,” you’re going to love smash hit “Crossy Road.” The game is fun and addictive, and skillfully combines the gameplay of “Frogger” with a beautiful cubic-art style that makes the game come to life in a charming way.

Thumb Drift Furious

“Thumb Drift Furious” is a game that lets you race cars — with plenty of drifting. The addictive gameplay is easy to jump into and pick up. As one commenter puts it: “you really only need a working thumb and a need for speed.”

Lara Croft Go

“Lara Croft Go” is a “Tomb Raider” version of “Monument Valley,” the delightful mobile puzzle game that was once featured on “House of Cards.” One commenter says: “It makes me think just enough that it’s a challenge, but not totally frustrating.”

Downwell

In “Downwell,” you play from the perspective of a young boy going down a well “in search of untold treasures with only his Gunboots to protect him.” You collect gems and battle monsters, and one of the best things about the game is that, because it’s “procedurally generated,” every time you enter the well it’s different.

Clash Royale

“Clash Royale” comes from the creators of “Clash of Clans” and is a real-time multiplayer game that is a mix between a card game and a battle game. You can duel players from all across the world, so you’ll always have someone to play, even if it’s in the middle of the night.

Badland 2

“Badland 2” is the sequel to the award-winning action adventure that stunned players with some of the most gorgeous graphics we’d ever seen. Your goal is to guide a creature through creepy environments and beat objectives and challenges, and a multiplayer mode lets you play with friends in person or online.

Wonky Ship

“Wonky Ship” puts you in the role of an intergalactic pilot trying to wiggle your way out of a black hole. As the creators warn: “You’ll die. Often.”

Capitals

“Capitals” is a word game that is like a mix between Scrabble and a super simple Risk. You use words to defend your territory and move toward conquering your opponent’s capital.

iSlash Heroes

“iSlash Heroes” is a puzzle game where you slash pieces off a board by using your finger as a ninja sword. The goal is to chop down the board to a certain size while contending with the various obstacles the game throws at you. And if you like it, it will keep you entertained for a long time — the game has a whopping 290 levels.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes

In “Galaxy of Heroes,” you make teams out of characters from “Star Wars” and then battle opponents in RPG-style gameplay. Whether you’re a fan of the originals or the prequels, you can mix and match characters from all eras of “Star Wars” lore.
